On the whole, this one is very cool. Some of the paint is a little unevenly applied, but it looks pretty good for a toy. The emitter on top does not appear to be connected by a very sturdy piece of material, and I\’m afraid if a kid got ahold of this, it wouldn\’t last long. When the trigger is in the rest position, it supports the emitter somewhat, and if you carried this in a coat pocket, it would PROBABLY be okay.

The sound is good, but there are only two sound effects, played alternately, and they are very similar to each other. Moreover, they aren\’t very loud. If you were showing this to somebody at a sci-fi convention, he might not even hear it in the noisy convention hall.

Mostly though, this toy makes me giggle. I\’ve wanted my own sonic screwdriver since I was five years old.

Kinda cheezy design like it should be but seems well built. It seems as sturdy as any of the other sonic screwdrivers of which I have all of them. Makes 2 super cool sounds. I get these as collectibes, I have no idea how appropriate for kids they are since I have no kids. Nice addition to a Doctor costume.
